Become a Standards for Excellence “Licensed Consultant”
The Standards for Excellence Institute® continues to build a national network of qualified consultants licensed to provide training, consulting, and support on the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector®. The Licensed Consultant Training is an exclusive, professional development initiative that gives independent consultants the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to work with nonprofit organizations across the country interested in learning about, conducting self assessments, implementing change, and becoming certified in the Standards for Excellence® Program.*

Program Benefits
- Three day License Certification seminar in September 2008, including
- Background on the importance of self-regulation for the nonprofit sector
- Overview of the Standards for Excellence® program and the specific content contained within the 55 guidelines
- Facilitation and training skills development to support program delivery and implementation

- Opportunity to serve as an additional professional resource for the Standards for Excellence® Institute on a contractual basis
Expectations of Licensed Consultants
To be eligible for and maintain your status as a Licensed Consultant, individuals must:
- Serve in a capacity that supports educating and working with nonprofits to implement and demonstrate organizational improvement and self-regulation
- Complete application and submit for review
- Attend an initial Standards for Excellence Institute® authorized multi-day Licensed Consultant seminar
- Commit to program reporting and evaluation requirements
- Submit periodic reports on Standards for Excellence® related training and consulting engagements you conduct, including client contact information for consulting engagements
- Maintain acceptable program evaluation ratings
- Maintain membership in the Standards for Excellence Institute® (annual membership fee - 2 year membership included in Licensed Consultant Training tuition)
- Maintain active Licensed Consultant status (annual licensing fee - 2 year license included in Licensed Consultant Training tuition)
- Abide by all copyright, intellectual property, and derivative work restrictions of the Standards for Excellence Institute®
To Apply
Complete the application for the 2008 Licensed Consultant Training no later than July 15, 2008. A screening process, including review of professional experience will also be conducted by Standards for Excellence Institute® staff, based upon the completed application. Once accepted into the program, enter into a written agreement with the Standards for Excellence Institute® setting forth obligations and commitments as mentioned above. And, participate in all facets of the three-day training seminar.
Tuition: $1350 per person (**tuition does not include travel and lodging)
Payment is due in full upon acceptance into the program, no later than August 20, 2008.

* Geographical limitations do apply with regard to where Licensed Consultants can provide service. In areas represented by a Standards for Excellence® Partner, Licensed Consultants will require written permission from the Partner to conduct Standards for Excellence® related activities.
