At
the Standards for Excellence® Institute we are committed to helping every
nonprofit organization implement the Standards for Excellence®. In fact, we are fond of saying that "If it's in the Standards,
we'll help you do it!" The Standards for Excellence® Institute has developed
training programs, educational resource packets, and one-on-one technical
assistance to help your organization make the necessary changes and
adjustments to strengthen your organization by implementing the Standards. These educational programs and services are offered to members
of the Standards for Excellence® Institute and by our state and local
replication partners to nonprofits in their jurisdictions. Click

Training
Programs
The Standards for Excellence® Institute offers a variety of training
programs to help nonprofits implement all aspects of the Standards for
Excellence®.
- Standards
for Excellence® Introductory Course. For organizations interested in
a general introduction to the Standards for Excellence program, the
Introductory Course offered through the Standards for Excellence® Institute
and local Standards for Excellence® replication partners may be appropriate. This three-hour course provides an overview of all components
of the Standards for Excellence®: An Ethics and Accountability Code
for the Nonprofit Sector and the Standards program. Participants
have the opportunity to assess an organization with which they work
according to the Standards and learn how to access available
resources. If you are interested in more information about
the Standards for Excellence® Introductory Course please contact Amy Coates Madsen.
- Standards
for Excellence® Clinic Series. For organizations interested in
participating in a more in-depth education program, enrolling in the
Standards for Excellence® Clinic Series is encouraged. This three-,
four- six-, or eight- session course combines classroom instruction
and peer-to-peer learning and covers every standard in the Standards
for Excellence®: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit
Sector. Organizations enrolled in the clinic series may send
multiple representatives to each session. The series generally
takes place over several sessions. At the conclusion of the
series, organizations will be well on their way to implementing all
of the best practices supported by the Standards for Excellence®. If you are interested in more information about the Standards for

Written
Educational Materials
The Standards for Excellence Institute has developed 22 educational
resource packets that are intended to assist individual organizations
to implement specific standards. These materials are available to all
Standards for Excellence Institute members free of charge. These
packets are also available through Standards for Excellence replication
partners. Click here for a list of

The
educational resource packets generally include information on the importance
of implementing specific standards, justification for the standards,
best practices associated with the issue, model procedures and sample
policies.
Educational
resource packets are available exclusively to members of the Standards
for Excellence Institute. Due
to copying and shipping costs, the Standards for Excellence is not able
to deliver hard copy versions of all 22 educational resource packets
at one time. Member organizations may
request up to 5 packets at one time.

One-on-One
Technical Assistance
Standards
for Excellence Institute staff are available to assist Institute members
with specific technical assistance inquiries via e-mail, phone, or fax.
Staff can review your organizational policies and/or procedures, discuss
tactics for implementing a particular standard, or connect you with
additional educational materials as appropriate.
